The Launch of Mish Mish is tonight. Mish Mish is a Zine Distro started by our friends Jesjit Gill and Laura McCoy. I'm really excited about this site. Please check it out and order some books from cool people.

It's all over! The past week was an extremely busy one!

The first to recap, was our Gallery show and book launch for Wowee Zonk 2. It was an extremely successful and fun evening! Thanks to everyone who made it out! Click on the photo to check out some photos taken by friend Harvey Chan.

This is our room at the Toronto Comic arts festival which took place this past weekend. We were there selling our own books as well as the books of a ton of great Toronto Artists who couldn't make it out, Including wowee zonk 2 contributor Michael Deforge. Thank you to Chris Butcher, The Beguiling and The Toronto Reference Library for having us!

In between these two events, we also took part in the OCAD grad show, where Chris was awarded the Illustration Medal, the Top award in our program! Congrats Chris!

Wowee Zonk 2 is now available online and will be in finer stores in the Toronto Area shortly.

Now it's time for a good long sleep.

Wowee Zonk is a comic book anthology started in 2008 by 3 illustration students attending The Ontario College of Art and Design. Inspired by contemporary avant-garde comics, the publication was created as an outlet for the multitude of upcoming artists in Toronto working with visual narrative.The new issue, Wowee Zonk #2, features 56 pages by 7 young artists with distinctly individual approaches to the medium of comics.
The book will be launched Wednesday May 6th, 2009 at Keep Six Contemporary gallery, (938 Bathurst Street, 6-10pm) and coincide with a display of new work by Wowee Zonk founders,Chris Kuzma, Ginette Lapalme and Patrick Kyle. Artists will be in attendance.

The book also includes comics by illustration students Andrei Georgescu and Chris Simonen. (and Ken Craine and Michael Deforge)

Chris, Ginette and Patrick are also curating a small press room at The Toronto Comic Arts Festival, featuring a number of Toronto and International Artists, on May 9th and 10th.
